This is the third time that the Golf Championship will be held in Oakland Hills, Michigan. Beau Breault is one of the three previous winners in Michigan amateur tournament, and he is a defending champion. This will be the 108th state tournament for amateurs, and it started this Tuesday.
The tournament started with stroke play during both Tuesday and Wednesday until it was cut to 64 for match plays that will begin on Thursday. There will be two rounds of games every day until the winner is determined this Saturday.
Beau Breault was last year’s winner, and he managed to defeat Anthony Sorrentino in Detroit. Breault became the seventh player to win after earning the second place a year before.
Sorrentino will also participate, along with ten other players from Oakland Hills. The youngest person in the tournament is 14, while the two of the oldest are 60.
